I did a thing - A very big thing!
Kat Shaw is an artist. She is also a powerful goddess and an activist who works tirelessly to empower, honour and champion women.
Kat encourages and supports woman to step in to their power, to smash the patriarchy and to break the stereotypical views of beauty. Her art is glorious and real. There is no air brushing, no filtering and no photoshopping. It is raw unapologetic beauty and a celebration of every single body shape.
Please do check out her website and give her a follow on social media. Her main social media account with 60k followers got taken down and she is frequently banned because she dares to share beautiful paintings of beautiful women. This has hugely impacted on her reach and sales. So please do support her.
Anyway! Why am i telling you all of this? Well - Unapologetic was a life changing experience for me and one i am so grateful and proud to have been part of.
As part of unapologetic Kat painted over 100 paintings of real women. One of which was me!
On the 9th March i joined Kat and 60 of those woman for a day of ceremony, celebration and healing. We said enough
Enough apologising
Enough conforming
Enough making ourselves small
Enough being quiet
Enough modifying our behaviour
ENOUGH!
We stood proud, we honoured ourselves and one another. A sisterhood of power. Fierce, authentic
UNAPOLOGETIC.
Tears, joy, laughter, body paint and a naked Katwalk.
Thank you Kat Shaw - Please do go give her some love!
